SCIENTIFIC AND CULTURAL EVENT DEDICATED TO THE INTERNATIONAL DAY OF THE FRENCH LANGUAGE “FRANCOPHONIE” AT THE UNIVERSITY
On May 15, 2026, a scientific and cultural event was held in the cultural hall of the main building of the university as part of the “Francophonie” week, dedicated to the 35th anniversary of the State Independence of
the Republic of Tajikistan and the 95th anniversary of the Tajik State Pedagogical University named after Sadriddin Ayni.
The event was attended by the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the French Republic to the Republic of Tajikistan, H.E. Ms. Elsa Pignol, the Vice-Rector for International Relations, Professor Kurbonzoda R., the Cultural Attaché of the Embassy of France in Tajikistan, Mr. Mathieu Collet, as well as other distinguished guests.
After the official reception, the guests visited the university museum and gained positive impressions of the university’s history.
The Vice-Rector, Kurbonzoda R., welcomed the guests and conveyed the gratitude of the university rector. In his speech, he highlighted the good relations between Tajikistan and France, existing cooperation, and prospects for its further expansion. He also expressed gratitude to the Embassy of France in Tajikistan for its financial support in the publication of the “Encyclopedia of France.”
The Ambassador of the French Republic, in her speech, thanked the university administration and the Vice-Rector for the warm reception and emphasized that the French side remains highly interested in further developing cooperation with Tajikistan.
Following this, Professor S. Sultonzoda presented a detailed presentation on the content and significance of the “Encyclopedia of France” using a large screen display.
At the end of the event, a cultural program prepared by students of the university was presented to the audience.
