On 10 July 2026, the Tajik State Pedagogical University named after Sadriddin Ayni hosted a working meeting dedicated to improving the performance of dissertation councils and scientific journals.

The meeting was attended by the Chairman of the Higher Attestation Commission under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Doctor of Biological Sciences, Professor Sayfiddin Davlatzoda; Head of the Department of Humanities Hokimkhon Valizoda; Head of the Department of Attestation in Natural, Mathematical and Technical Sciences Ahliddin Gulzoda; Vice-Rector for Research, Doctor of Chemical Sciences, Professor Sirojiddin Rajabzoda; First Vice-Rector and Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs, Candidate of Historical Sciences, Associate Professor Nahtullo Ainullozoda; Vice-Rector for International Relations, Doctor of Philological Sciences, Professor Rukhshona Kurbonzoda; the Scientific Secretary, heads of research units, editors of scientific journals, and members of the University's dissertation councils.

The meeting was opened by Vice-Rector for Research Professor Sirojiddin Rajabzoda, who welcomed the participants and guests. In his remarks, he highlighted the University's achievements in the operation of dissertation councils and the publication of scientific journals, emphasizing that improving the quality of scientific research and aligning the activities of dissertation councils and scientific journals with modern standards are among the University's key priorities. The floor was then given to Professor Sayfiddin Davlatzoda, Chairman of the Higher Attestation Commission under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan.

In his address, Professor Davlatzoda analyzed the current state of the University's dissertation councils and scientific journals, focusing on compliance with regulatory requirements, improving the quality of academic evaluations, strengthening the responsibility of dissertation council members, and bringing scientific journals into line with international standards. He presented a number of practical recommendations, stressing that the sustainable development of science and the training of highly qualified specialists largely depend on the effective work of dissertation councils and the professional quality of scientific publications.

The meeting continued with a detailed presentation by Hokimkhon Valizoda, Head of the Department of Humanities, who provided comprehensive information on the procedures for awarding academic degrees and academic titles, the current requirements for dissertation defenses, and the activities of dissertation councils and scientific journals. He also offered practical recommendations aimed at eliminating existing shortcomings and enhancing the effectiveness of their work.

During the meeting, representatives of the Higher Attestation Commission and the participants exchanged views on pressing issues related to the development of science, the improvement of dissertation councils, and the enhancement of the quality of scientific journals.

The meeting concluded with the emphasis that implementing the proposed recommendations will further improve the performance and quality of the University's dissertation councils and scientific journals, strengthen the academic environment, contribute to the training of competitive specialists, and support the continued development of science and education in the country.
